Nantwich Family Films @ 4

Nantwich Family Films @ 4 came runner-up in the 'community' category at the National Film Society Awards 2015 last weekend. The film project was awarded a distinction for its work in engaging the local community, and working with a local primary school where pupils made their own short films.

Geoff Etherton, the project's co-ordinator said:
'We are overwhelmed to be runners up and be awarded a distinction at the National Film Society Awards. Our team of volunteers works incredibly hard to provide somewhere local and low cost where families can watch films on the big screen. This award recognises that work at a national level, in engaging both audience and volunteers from the local community, for making a difference in the town, and in our collaborative work, especially with local schools. We narrowly lost out to a great film society from Northern Ireland, so I think that makes us the best community film society in England!'

The project was praised for its work in making a difference in the local community, in engaging volunteers from the local community, and their work with Wyche Primary School.

The next screening is on Sunday 18 October when the film will be 'Inside Out'. As usual, family tickets cost just £10 (£4 individual tickets) and are available in advance from Nantwich Civic Centre, Nantwich Bookshop and online through Facebook (facebook.com/nantwichfamilyfilmsat4), as well as on the door.
