A Service of Thanksgiving and Dedication at the signing of the Constitution of the Local Ecumenical Partnership was held at the Uniting Church in Garden Lane Chester on Sunday 5 July 2015.   After working and worshiping together for a number years a formal partnership has finally come into being between the Sealand Road United Reformed Church which worshiped and witnessed in Whipcord Lane for 100 years and the 135 year old Garden Lane Methodist Church.

Revd David Goodwin, Minister of The Uniting Church in Garden Lane welcomed a congregation of around 80 people to the afternoon service in the presence of the Sheriff of Chester, Councillor Alex Black; Revd Peter Barber, The Chair of the Chester & Stoke-on-Trent District of the Methodist Church; Revd Jacky Embrey, Moderator of the Mersey Synod of the United Reformed Church, who gave the Sermon; Revd Neil Stacey, Superintendent Minister of the Chester & Delamere Forest Methodist Circuit, Revd Father Paul Shaw, Chair of Churches Together in Chester; other Ministers and representatives of many other churches and the local community also.
