Wellspring Methodist Church in Congleton, Cheshire, invited children of primary and junior school age to its innovative “Drop Whilst You Shop - Christmas Wrapped Up” Holiday Club which was held on 22 and 23 December 2014.  Each day around twenty-five children and eighteen helpers enjoyed a fun-filled morning together.

Our programme over two and a half hours began with songs, drama, and a story time (which was the second instalment of the Sid and Basher tale read by Granny Jean).  This was the sequel to the Sid and Basher story at the Summer Holiday Club.

Following this, various craft activities were on offer, including making Christmas cards, angels, crowns, gift boxes and finger puppets.
Decorating biscuits, picture colouring, nativity stencils and jigsaws completed this section.

One of the aims of the Holiday Club was to present the true message of Christmas to the children.  With this in mind, before lunch everyone gathered together to share Christmas songs, drama, a quiz, memory Bible verse recap, and prayers.

Before going home, the children enjoyed a light lunch including sandwiches, sausage roll, cake, crisps, fruit and juice.  Everyone agreed that a good time was had by all.

Wellspring welcomes all to the church on Canal Road, Congleton, CW12 3AP.  For more information see the website which is www.wellspringcongleton.co.uk
