Community Coffee Morning at Garden Lane, Chester

The Community Coffee Morning at the Uniting Church (Methodist & United Reformed) in Garden Lane Chester on Saturday 7 June was once again well supported by the local community and raised £250 for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd.  A further £53 was also raised on the Hospice stall for sale of promotional goods.

Jane Forster representative of the Hospice support group for the Hoole area gave an update of the work of the Hospice of the Good Shepherd and answered questions from those present.  For further information on how people can support the work of the Hospice, Jane can be contacted at jane.forster@bankofscotland.co.uk

The next Community Coffee Morning at the Uniting Church will be on Saturday 5 July at 10:30 am in support of the military charity Help for Heroes and will be attended by the Lord Mayor of Chester Councillor Bob Rudd and the Mayoress Mrs Sandra Rudd.  The event to be held during the 9 day Garden Quarter Festival commemorating the centenary of the First World War will also feature the unveiling of the Great War Mural designed by local school children.

Regular updates about the 9 day festival are on www.facebook.com/gardenquarter and also on Twitter@GardenQuarter.
