Community News from the Garden Quarter of Chester

The Community Coffee Morning held at the Uniting Church in Garden Lane on Saturday 1 June was once again very well supported and raised £204.50 for Chester Lodging and Support Provider, a locally based charity working with homeless people to achieve independence.

The members of the "Uniting Church" once again wish to particularly thank those members of the Garden Quarter and surrounding neighbourhoods who helped bake cakes for the coffee morning.  Also for the continuing support of the community, for these very popular occasions which have raised thousands of pounds for local charities over the years.

The next Community Coffee Morning at the "Uniting Church" will be on Saturday 6th July 2013 from 10.30am - 12 noon when all proceeds will be donated to the Chester Childbirth Appeal.

Admission will be £2 to include Fairtrade coffee or tea and cake or scone.  There will be the usual cake stall, a raffle with quality prizes and secondhand books on sale.

Photos are of Heather Grindley, General Manager of CLASP addressing those present about the work of the charity and also with Gwyneth Cooper a Director of the Trust, Reverend Martin Hardy and local PCSO Jack Bostock.
