Long Distance Paddle

Adam Meredith, a member of Crewe by Farndon Methodist Chapel in the Cheshire South Circuit, recently returned from a long distance paddle for Save the Family in Maryland, USA.  Speaking about the trip Adam said ‘Our Chapel has been a regular supporter of Save the Family and I thought this would be a great opportunity to add some funds to such an important cause.  My brother and I paddled for 4 days in all down the navigable length of the Pocomoke River as far as Janes Island State Park, the last day was the hardest with adverse wind and current for 8 hours before we turned inland.  In total the trip raised £561 for Save the Family and I’d like to thank everyone who donated so generously.’  Adam’s effforts were supported by the Community Church at Ocean Pines (United Methodist) – Pastor Bill Sterling took them both and their equipment to the launch site straight after the Sunday Service!
