Fish and Chip Babies

The ladies at the Uniting Church in Garden Lane (Chester) have been very busy over the summer knitting tiny woollen jumpers and hats to bring comfort to the lives of newborn Aids victims in Africa.  This has been in response to the revelation that so called "Fish and Chip" babies were being dispatched from hospital wrapped in newspaper because of a shortage of blankets in poverty stricken African countries where many are born already infected with HIV, or premature.  Ladies of the church are pictured with Methodist Minister the Reverend David Ray after some of their work had been brought to morning worship at the Chapel in Garden Lane on Sunday morning.
